GO GO GO

Sometimes healers make me angry.  I know that the norm is for the DPS to be the pushy, needy, impatient and rude ones but lately it seems to be the healers that keep yelling at me.  Now I'm the tank, as it was explained to me when I accepted the job of getting hit by every monster in every dungeon in Azeroth I'm the one in charge.  I set the speed of the pulls.  I maintain the order of the group.  Not the fucking healer!!!

I understand that the healers level slow, so I get that they would just queue for randoms rather than quest to level.  I get it.  But that does not give them the right to tell me what to do.  You can't run a dungeon without a tank.  They need me more than I need them.  There is no "I" in healer, or tank for that matter.  We are suppose to be a team.  Like the pitcher and catcher in baseball.

So I was running a random last night and the healer was telling me to GO GO GO.  I tried to politely tell him that I pull at a  rate which I feel comfortable, a rate at which the DPS can take down the trash without blowing all of their cool-downs and getting us all killed.  Sometimes the DPS is very efficient and I can just AOE everything in sight.  Sometimes the DPS is green and needs a little practice.  So I like to start the first few pulls by just grabbing small groups and seeing how they do.  You can learn a lot on that first pull.

Anyway, the DPS was lagging behind a bit.  No problem, I can wait until they are a bit more organized or get their target order worked out before I start pulling like mad.  If they need a little direction I will start marking targets; triangle, circle then square.  It's a simple order and only take 2-3 pulls to workout.  As I'm trying to explain this to the DPS the damn healer starts shouting at me, GO GO GO.  I tell him to hold on because I'm trying to explain pull order to the DPS.  He calls me a N00B and drops.  Now we have to wait 8 minutes for another healer.

We have all seen this with DPS, antsy teenagers all hopped up on Mountain Dew and Skittles., get impatient and start pulling before the tank is ready.  I usually just let them die and they learn their lesson.  But the healer ... he is supposed to be on my team.  Pitcher and Catcher man.

I am the Angry Orc

My name is Jamal Pencil and I play an Angry Orc in the game World of Warcraft.  I have decided to start a blog for the angry ranting of my angry orc.  I have never really had a blog before so give it a little time while I work through the bumps I will probably encounter along the way.  More coming soon!
